Ain't no Gallery was founded by Jonatan Björkman the 12th of december 2019. We don't need more gallery's for the elitists, we don't need another white cube. Ain't no Gallery is more flexible yet can be used traditionally like the familiar art scene. The gallery will be alternatively driven towards a new and unknown grounds. 

Accessibility is one of the main goals. You don’t need to be an established artist to be part of the upcoming exhibitions. This is for everyone. Since this is based in Google Drive, there is new and interesting opportunities for alternative approaches. The past years there's been an increasing trend of digital art such as video and audio. The main problem with these works is that they are presented in galleries, the same way as paintings and sculptures. Video and audio based art is easier and more enjoyable in the comfort of the consumer’s home.

Why virtual? 
The virtual medium allows new opportunities. The artwork can be presented, as we know, as  text, video, audio, graphics. As emphasized, these works is not radical in a artistic setting. There is other digital mediums that is more suitable for creating something radical. Something new. 

What assets do the platform provide?
Using Google Drive gives the creators an opportunity to explore and discover the web: links, code, pdf, PowerPoint, graphics, text, animation, interactive mediums and much more. Using Google Drive as a platform/provider allows us to take advantage of clickable links. As such we get an opportunity to bypass the common issues with copyright.

How is it different from social media?
Ain't no Gallery supports a large vary of file formats, there's no video length limit, nudity and other explicit content is available to the artists. One crucial advantage of creating this inside folder based media instead of  the uncencored social medias is the very simple way to create folders and keep things tidy and clear. This gallery is plain and raw. 


To get started.
The gallery contains a list of exhibitions. Every exhibition is presented as a folder, a folder packed with content. The artists work will be titled with the works title, artists name and date. ex. Title_JohnJohnson_2014.pdf

How can I be part of an upcoming exhibition?
The artists are able to contact Ain't no Gallery preferably via the application form. Applying via social media such as email, Facebook and Instagram is accepted.
