Jonatan Björkman was born 1997 in Karlstad, Sweden. As a young child he attended saxophone lessons. Shortly after his weekly rehearsing began the teacher disappeared and, for all we know, went off the grid. Unfortunately there was no substitute to replace the teacher and that was the end of saxophone practice.

After the last puff, the death of a child’s dream, he began practicing the guitar and still do this day. Along with the guitar jamming he sketched with elementary school supplies in his notebooks.

3 years later: middle school graduation.
6 years later: high school graduation.
9 years later: college graduation.

After nine years of studies Jonatan takes three different jobs during 2016-2017. Right there and then, biten in the ass by a rabid dog and simultaneously struck by the lightning, he shouted ”HEUREKA!” and decided to apply to art school. After his new radical life decision he keeps on working at night and builds his portfolio at day. A single month until the deadline, without a single artwork in the archive… Jonatan bit the bullet, worked intensely during the short time he had and eventually finished.

The upcoming fall season he got accepted to study at art school. Bitter sweet as it was, he packed his belongings, kissed his mother farewell and moved away from his home town. Not knowing anyone in the city he began his studies. Instantly he made new friends. After two years of inspiring art studies and discussions with similar minds he recieved his final grades. But it did not end there and then for Jonatan. At graduation the latent saxophonist, the guitarist, the notebook sketching non-artist got the school’s scholarship to advance studies.

Even though it’s been over ten years since the last saxophone puff and the missing teacher, he’s still thinking about picking up the mysterious instrument. Because time’s they are A-Changin’, fine arts is now priority number one.

Today Jonatan consider himself an artist above all else. 2017 was the year he understood:
